Hello there! My name is Gabrielle Louchart!

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. There was never a homework assignment or test that went un-doodled on. Even now if a restaurant has crayons and something to draw on, I will ask for the crayons. It has always been a way for me to focus, but it was also a way to express myself. Growing up I had always had my fair share of health issues but I was constantly turning towards a creative outlet and bringing joy to not just myself but those around me.

In high school I knew I wanted do something with art as a career, but I wasn't sure what that could be or if it was really all that possible.

As I entered into college and took my first animation class I had giant cartoon light bulb above my head and knew, animation was what I wanted to do.

When I transferred to Columbia College Chicago I started to have more serious health issues. I persisted through until I had finally earned my degree in Cinema Arts & Sciences with a concentration in 3D animation.

After I graduated I had to put my life on hold as I waited for a Kidney Transplant. During those 6 1/2 years I continued to refine my creative skills in a variety of different mediums. Unfortunately I was unable to work professionally due to the toll dialysis had on my body. It was hard to watch as everyones life moved forward and mine seemed stuck. I had worked hard for my degree and was unable to use it, and that bothered me.

In November 2021 I finally received my transplant and have been working on improving my health. After these last few months of working towards a new baseline of health I feel well enough to finally enter into the creative field. I am eager to start working with others who also wish to create and make things that inspire others for years to come.

Thank you!
